Un progetto d’arte condivisa.
Scattare foto col cellulare é diventata per me una pratica quotidiana, come per tanti altri il realizzare uno schizzo, un disegno, un acquerello. Da alcuni mesi ogni giorno condivido, con tutti voi su FaceBook, una di queste immagini, dopo averla fornita di una titolo e questo é un pó il mio modo di rispondere alla domanda che troviamo in testa alla pagina “A che cosa stai pensando?” Ma in questi giorni mi é venuto in mente che quelle immagini, che per me hanno un particolare significato, per ciascuno di voi potrebbero averne uno assolutamente diverso. Io “HO VISTO” e lo scatto di questa immagine é stata l’origine o la conseguenza, di un pensiero che ad essa si é strettamente associato e che io vi trasmetto assieme all’immagine, in qualche maniera “condizionando” il pensiero che susciterá in voi. In altre parole io “codifico” l’immagine nel presentarla. Ma le immagini sono un linguaggio di per se stesse, vogliamo esplorare quanto “comune” ed “universale” é tale linguaggio? Se fosse stato ciascuno di voi a “vedere” quale “valore semantico” avrebbe dato a quell’immagine?
Ecco quindi la ragione di questo progetto che vorrei fare in collaborazione con chiunque di voi sará cosí gentile da partecipare : a partire dal 15 Settembre, ogni giorno io posteró una foto, rigorosamente scattata in giornata col mio cellulare, e la posteró senza alcun titolo, quello che spero é che molti dei miei amici vorranno postare un loro brevissimo, possibilmente lapidario, titolo, che, ovviamente, sará visibile a tutti voi,
Passata una settimana dalla pubblicazione della foto sceglieró quel titolo che mi ha “colpito” di piú (perché era il piú vicino a quello che avrei scritto io? perché, all’opposto, era il piú lontano da esso? perché era quello che mi ha fatto maggiormante riflettere?... questo rimarrá un piccolo segreto) e lo attribuiró in via definitiva alla foto e, trascorsa la prima settimana, ogni giorno, attribuiró il “titolo” definitivo alla foto postata sette giorni prima .
Dato che sará un progetto che faremo assieme io con i miei “HO VISTO” e voi con i vostri “HO DETTO”, mi pare giusto che un riconoscimento vada a chi sará piú assiduo. Che riconoscimento puó promettere un artista se non un piccolo oggetto d’arte?
Ogni mese al piú assiduo/a nel postare i commenti giornalieri invieró, quindi un DVD, esemplare unico con mia dedica autografa al/alla “premiato/a”, contenente tutte le foto del mese, in versione definitiva e quindi con i titoli loro attribuiti ed i nomi degli autori dei titoli
A fine anno, quando le foto saranno diventate ben 365, il piú assiduo/a nel corso dell’intero anno riceverá la copia numero 1, con mia dedica autografa, di un libro d’arte, stampato in edizione limitatissima, un massimo di 10 copie numerate oltre a due prove d’autore, contenente tutte le 365 foto, complete dei titoli loro attribuiti e dei nomi degli autori stessi e di qualche breve testo di presentazione e critica.
Perché i premi andranno ai piú assidui e non, per esempio, a coloro di cui piú spesso mi sará capitato di scegliere i titoli? Innanzi tutto perché, essendo io a scegliere, premiare chi scelgo, in piena autonomia, non sarebbe corretto ma, cosa molto piú importante, perché questo é un progetto d’arte “collettivo” e non una “gara” e quindi tutti i contributi hanno pari valore e dignitá e la vera “opera d’arte” é rappresentata dalla complessiva “performance” che durerá un intero anno, rappresentata dalla sequenza del giornaliero susseguirsi di: <pubblicazione della foto da parte mia - vostri post che propongono il titolo> e non dal DVD o dal libro che sono solo oggetti d’arte derivati, testimonianze della performance stessa.
Un ultima precisazione, anche se, nei prossimi dodici mesi, tenderó a ridurre i miei interventi su FaceBook al minimo, potrá ovviamente capitare che io posti anche altre foto, anche caricate dal cellulare o video, o altro, quelle che dovrete prendere in considerazione per i vorìstri suggerimenti di titolo sono solo ed esclusivamente le foto che, portando l’indicazione “Caricamenti dal Cellulare”, avranno come titolo-didascalia ...HO VISTO,HAI DETTO... I SAW,YOU SAID...”
Vogliamo farlo assieme? Allora appuntameno al 15 Settembre, vi sapetto numerosi, ricordate che maggiore sará il numero dei vostri post e tanto piú significativo sará il nostro progetto.
A shared art project.
Taking pictures with the mobile phone has become a daily practice for me, as for many others make a sketch, or a drawing, or a watercolor. For several months, every day, after having written a title for it, I share one of those images with all of you on FaceBook and this is a bit the way I answer the question that is in the top of the page "What’s on your mind?" But lately it occurred to me to think that, those pictures that have special meaning for me, for each of you may have an absolutely different one. I "Saw" and the taking of this image has been the source or the consequence, of a thought that become, for me, strictly associated with it and that I transmit to you with the image, somehow "affecting" the thought that it will produce in you, in other words I "encode" the image that I’m posting. But images are a language in themselves, shall we explore how much "common" and "universal" this language is? If it had been each one of you to "see" which "semantic value" would you have given to that image?
Hence the reason I wish to do this project in collaboration with any of you who’ll be so kind to take part in it: from September 15th, every day I’ll post a photo, strictly taken on that day with my phone, and I’ll post it with the caption …HO VISTO,HAI DETTO… I SAW, YOU SAID…, my hope is that many of my friends will post their short, terse as possible, suggested title that will, of course, will be visible to you all,
After a week from the publication of the photo I will choose among those titles the one that I like most (because it is the closest to what I’ll have wrote myself? because, by contrast, it’s the furthest away from it? because it’s the one that made me reflect more on it? ... this will remain a little secret) and I’ll give it as definitive title to the photo and then, after the first week, every day, I will give the final "title" to the photo posted seven days before.
Since it will be a project that we will do together, I with my "I SAW" and you with your "I SAID," I think it right that a recognition goes to those who will be most frequent in collaborating to it. What reward can recognize an artist but a small piece of art?
Each month, the most frequent commenter will receive a DVD, realized in one single copy, with mine autograph in dedication to her or him , with all the photos of the month, in their final version with the titles and the names of the authors of the titles,
At the end of the year, when the photos will have become 365, the most assiduous in posting during the entire year will receive the copy number 1, with my autograph in dedication to her or him, of an art book, printed in limited edition, a maximum of 10 numbered copies, plus two proofs, containing all 365 pictures, with the titles assigned to them, the names of the authors of titles and some introductory or critic texts.
Why the rewards will go to the most frequent in posting and not, for example, to those of whom I will have more often chosen the titles? First of all because to do so, as I’ll choose in full autonomy, it would be incorrect, but more importantly, because this is a collective art project and not a "contest" and therefore all contributions have equal value and dignity and the true "work of art" is represented by the overall "performance" that will last a whole year, done by the sequence of the daily succession of :
One last point, even if I’ll try to reduce to a minimum my activity on FaceBook in the next twelve months, of course, it may happen that I’ll post photos, even uploaded from the phone, videos or whatever, you have to take into consideration, for the suggestion of titles, only and exclusively the photos, bearing the indication “Mobile Uploads” and the title …HO VISTO, HAI DETTO… ...I SAW, YOU SAID…
